CODEBREAKERS #2

Writers: Carey Malloy, Ross Richie

Artwork: Scott Godlewski

Publisher: Boom! Studios

Greg's Review:

Codebreakers is decidedly on fire now after the slow start of # 1. We’re being taken in multiple directions by the various protagonists and villains in the story. Characters are being developed; motivations and mysteries are emerging. The frenetic pace of the storytelling is softened with a few timely pauses. And we are left at the end of issue 2 wanting more. What more can a reader expect of a good writer?

The art is always relevant to the storyline: point-of-view continues as cleverly as before, with flashbacks likewise. The painted-art cover to 2A (by Julian Totino Tedesco) puts us very much in the picture, story-wise. Remember: in writing, the story is everything!
