THE G-SPOT

REVIEWERS NOT UNDERSTANDING GENRES

It is interesting to hear some other reviewers talking about films they have recently seen. Today I heard reviewers discussing the new 'Transformers' film. 'It's just two and a half hours of robots fighting,' one was heard to say. Well what did they expect? A romantic comedy? A docco perhaps? Of course Transformers is about robots, in the same way that 'Star Trek' is about space and 'The Proposal' is about... well a proposals.

Then they decided to attack the fact that it is a 'blockbuster'. Why can't people understand that not every film has to be an Oscar Winner. Sometimes I just want to sit down and let my brain rest. I don't want to be thinking about an intense plot or anything like that... I simply want to watch 'two-and-a-half-hours of robots fighting'... because that is what I waited in line to see.
